Baking requires accuracy in quantity, temperature and technique. Many a times the same recipe yields different textures and flavours. Mastering the perfectly flaky pie crust or the luscious chocolate chip muffin would make me feel like I’ve achieved nirvana in the field of baking, (especially since for most if it, I’m a self taught cook). To help me get one step closer is the community of Daring Bakers.
I’m going to be joining the Daring Bakers’ Blogroll. The idea is to have people the world over bake the same dish and follow the recipe to the T. Then everyone will discuss their experiences and put up their photos- lots of fun and learning.
This is an excellent way to try out new things, since you know that if you fail, you’re probably not the only one.
It is quite encouraging to discuss failures and figure out what went wrong too.
Each month one member posts a recipe that everyone must follow, and participating members post their experiences on their respective blogs. It is the beginning of the month, the perfect time to join the gang!
PS: I love the pink banner, isn’t it just so cute?!

hehe, all the best, coco!
Hi Shaheen,
Since you are also a self taught baker.. I just have a simple query. What oven do you use in India? I have been baking in US in those big ovens. In India we have these small ovens, so before buying I need you advice.
