I can't email on your existing address due to some code error.

Hey I'm sorry you had to face that error. Thanks for bringing it to my notice. Can email shaheen@purplefoodie.com or purplefoodie@gmail.com I use Blogger.com and am very happy with it. the other popular option is Wordpress. It's a personal preference. Images uploaded are just fine. Not sure what you mean by "safe" though..

Hi Shaheen,

I am an amature cook…amature in real sense cas i discovered i love cooking new things and watching others cook only after i got married. The difficult part however is that i am a eggitarian (if there is something called like that:)))
I am a 9 to 7 working mom of a 2 year old kid and have been toying with the idea of baking breads, cakes (generally have been using cake mixes) and cheesecakes (lemon and blueberry are the family favourite). I chanced upon your site and found it fantastic…its easy and fun to read and the enthusiasm ebbs from the site itself:)). I ended up making a good chocolate cake today morning before hitting the road for office( yeah…we work saturdays too!!). At the cost of sounding stupid can i ask what is the difference between beating the butter and wisking it ???
thanks for all the lovely ideas for where to buy my kitchen stuff….will keep on blogging on your site….

Hey Megha,

Not silly. It’s pretty much the same thing.. Let me take a shot at this. If you are using a Kitchen aid, you have a paddle attachment that will beat the butter or you’re using one of those hand held beaters – that will probably warrant the action as beating. If you’re using a whisk to do the job manually, you will be whisking it. Also, whisking also implies that you are incorporating air into whatever it is that you’re mixing.

Hi Shaheen..I have emailed you too and am sorry to be badgering you.Need you help as we are moving back to India in 3 weeks from Australia. I was wondering how to find out all these things when i chanced upon your website and it was like a blessing.

I want to know if the following items are available in Mumbai and thus bring only what is absolutely necessary due to luggage weight restrictions.

Cupcake/ Mini muffin pans
Roasting pans with racks
Measuring cup and spoons
Ice cream scoop – metal
Wok
Tongs
Cake serving pedestal stand
Cake server and knife set
Tiered serving stand for cupcakes etc
Lemon thyme – fresh
Marzipan
Fondant
Cheeses – mascarpone, blue, havarti – although there is only so much I can bring of these.
Awaiting your reply
